WOULD NEVER recommend easter seals. Teachers try their best but the management and upper management is horrible

PP 22:28..may I ask what your issues with Easter Seals was? We are currently on the waiting list for our 3 month old.

LOL - OP here, ended up at ES and totally agree with the negative feedback. (Frankly, after talking with other parents, I am SHOCKED anyone has anything positive to say...makes me suspicious, frankly) Am now looking for a new place, which is the only reason I happened to notice this post is active again.

I strongly disagree! ES is fantastic! Been there for four years, new administration for almost three and major improvements in communication, quality of education, teacher qualifications and more! Couldn't be happier!! KP

We were at SSPCC for several years. We really liked it. It's a pretty easy going place, they've got great outdoor space, and the church is set back very far from the main road so you don't feel like you're right on the main street. I recall visiting Easter Seals and feeling like parking was going to be an issue and it was a more urban setting. We also had a friend at Easter Seals and she was very happy with it. I seem to recall at least for infants, Easter Seals is more expensive. We declined a spot off the waitlist, for what it's worth. The most important thing to me is that I always felt like my kids were safe and happy at SSPCC.

When we hit the preschool years, however, we transitioned out of SSPCC. We always felt our kids were cared for and safe, but when it came time to start a preschool program we thought we could do a little better. They are a great daycare facility, but probably need to make their preschool program more attractive. Also, some of the policies were kind of rigid (e.g., there was absolutely no flexibility with things like parent/teacher conferences - we needed to reschedule and we were told absolutely not and under no circumstances - be there on the one day when they're being held, or wait another 6 months for the next conference). The fact that it continues on through preschool ends up being a great option for some, though, and for parents who need full-day care, it is a relatively affordable option. We originally thought that's what we would do, and if our commute/schedule had been a little different, we would have given it more serious consideration.

OP here. Thanks for the thoughts. I have visited both, and get good (but very different) vibes from both places. I'm sure we'd be fine either place, but wanted feedback from people with actual experience, if possible.

My kids go/went to SSPC. I've been very happy with the care they have gotten and I like that there is not much staff turnover there. They both started as infants. I haven't experienced any incidents that caused any significant or major concern. I keep sending my kid there.

You should visit both facilities and see how you feel about them when you visit. Visiting and your gut feeling after the visit can tell you a lot.

BUMP. I'm curious, too!

There have been a few threads relating to these centers in years past, but I know ES has had a change up in administration since those threads. Plus, things are always evolving at any daycare center. So, I am looking for your candid opinions on either ES or SSPCC or both. My son will be almost a year when he enrolls (he currently has daycare elsewhere but we are moving closer to downtown SS). I am curious about every program at both places, since we'd love to never have to move him again Also, feel free to chime in if you have another option I haven't mentioned. We're looking for somewhere not too far from Colesville Rd.
