Definitely try the Turbie Twist towels. I have used them for years and they work great.

T3 hair dryer after getting much of the water out with a chamois type towel others have suggested.

I'm the first PP. I've never seen anything like those brushes. What will they think of next? The thing I like about the special towel, though, is that you can put it on, twist it up (mine has a little loop to put the tail in) and then go about your business while your hair dries quickly.

blot with regular towel, then paper towels. Use paper towels to clean bathroom etc.

I have long, thick straight hair

I wrap in a towel, and squeeze out as much water as possible. Then I comb through it, and squeeze out more water with a towel. (don't rub with a towel, but just allow towel to absorb water, or fluff a little with the towel). Then I get dressed or do a few things so it air dries a little, for 15-20 minutes.

Then, I flip my head and dry the underside and thicker inner parts, around the crown of my head, then flip right side up and smooth and finish.

I have found better hair dryers do a better, faster job, too.

All said, though, whenever I can I just let it air dry. When i was in my teens and 20s I just went out with damp hair. Since it dries straight, it was just easier. I had friends who would braid or pin up their hair when wet and just let it dry overnight, or during the day in the braids. (If I braided my hair wet and went to bed, it would still be wet in the morning).

Big fan of the Aquis hair towel. I wear that wrapped around my hair and twisted on top of my head while I get dressed. It takes my hair from dripping to damp in 15-20 minutes. I also find it helps to comb my hair first, as the combing seems to squeeze some water out, kind of like a squeegee.

I rarely use a dryer, but using Moroccan oil from the ears down does seem to cut drying time. Not sure why...

I recently got one of those micro hair twist towels. I thought it sounded like a gimmick, but it really does dry my hair faster. Here is just one example:

Any suggestions or ideas? My DD is 10 and has very long hair and loves it but it takes so long to dry. Any tips or tricks? We have tried squeezing water out with a towel and that helps a little bit but it still takes quite a while to dry.
