Try looking on the other side of Georgia. There are quite a few houses in Downtown up for sale right now. I live in Downtown SS and it seems you are only looking on one side of Georgia Avenue. Downtown SS residential is on both sides.

OP here. I am not a troll. Just interested in moving to SS! Relax.
I have search info on woodlin but the reviews seem vague. Perhaps a school tour.

They are all convenient locations, very close to metro. One of them seems to be across the street from Tastee diner. You may or may not want to live next to a 24 hour diner. It is not very "neighborhoody", but I do admire the convenient location every time I see those townhouses. I didn't realize they were so expensive though. You can get a single family home for the same price (plus no HOA fee), if you are willing to go a bit further from the metro.

Honestly, I call troll. I think this post is a poorly disguised attempt to bring the ridiculous SS bashing discussion from the MD schools forum over to this forum.
I will go so far as to day that OP and the first responder are tne same person.

I think the locations have trade offs, and that keeps the price of the THs Dow a bit.

Op here. Thanks for all input. Coming from Brooklyn, silver spring seems to have a similar feel but much more affordable. We do want to love as close to downtown as possible but still want good schools.

2nd ave is a more major street than I'd want to live on. Very exposed to traffic. Cameron hill ct is a good location in the sense of centrality, but more central than I would want (ie, not so residential). Both are good in terms of being close to stuff.

You might want to post on the schools forum. I've heard good things about the school and I'm sure it is a great school. That being said, there are numerous posters on DCUM who will denigrate any school which is not in Bethesda or Potomac.

Ask the poster who says it is a poor school, what actual experience she/he has had with the school, I bet no personal experience.

"Poor performing" according to what? Even the vaunted greatschools.net has a 5-star rating and lists every score above 78% with the vast majority in the 90s.
