I was really surprised to see my post deleted. Are all "biotch" references deleted? On what grounds? I'm genuinely curious. Because it's a curse word? Or because I was using "abusive speech" or something?
If it's a "bad word," ok, I get it. Ok, I respect the effort to keep some decorum on the forum.
If it's because it was abusive, I don't really get it - because there are so many more offensive said on this forum, like the post that I was initially responding too. There is so much true "hate speech" on here than "biotch."
I think I was just really surprised to have my stupid post deleted, and I was wondering on what grounds.
Maybe there should be a post about the rules here, like what you can and cannot say? There seem to be a lot of people saying that you are censoring arbitrarily. Someone said in the zoo thread, "it's jeff's sandbox and if you don't like it, leave," or something like that. That's b.s. This is a huge community of people engaging in a moderated dialogue, and we have a right to know what is and is not allowed.
If you call a post bs or something similar, I personally don't see a problem. But when you call someone the B word, that's pretty personal. Now, don't get me wrong. I've thrown the a-hole word out there and regretted it as soon as I hit the submit button. Also, you probably got reported. The moderator depends on people to point out vicious and demeaning comments. There are tons of great words that aren't profanity to describe a cretin. Stick to those. However, my favorite retort to a stupid post is bull$***
