Why would you deliberately make yourself look ridiculous and unattractive?

And the weird walk as a result of this trend is even worse. Scissoring your legs stiffly apart so that the pants does not fall down...ugh. Did they run out of toilet paper and now have to walk somewhere to fetch it?

And do any young woman like this trend? Nasty!

Regardless of which origin mentioned above is correct, it appears that this fashion trend still came out of prison culture. To me it's bizarre that people would want to copy a style that came from criminals in prison.

Its mixed views on where this originated..the typical line people say is this is to greet gay activity in prison.

The second is it actually started from straight men who wore baggy prison pants and had no belts to keep them up so they sagged.


I'm not gonna even mention white guys..but as far as the brothers & Hispanics .this trend has gone on in our poorer neighborhoods since the 90s .

As a teen I myself did this.when I got into 20's .I matured to no longer do it(which is the normal for guys who did it & became older)

I thought this thread would be about women with flat behinds.

Tacky and gross and yes, as un-PC as this is I freely admit that I judge people who wear their pants like that negatively. I think they are showing a disrespectful and sloppy attitude, and I think they might be ignorant to where this trend started and what it means.

If I had sons, which I don't, they would not be allowed to wear pants like that. EW. Why even bother wearing pants if you are going to show off your entire underwear covering your gross butt?

Sagging is a prison term for "I'm ready to be your bitch." When we tell the kids the meaning behind it (behind - snicker), they laugh but still come in wearing their pants halfway down their asses.

The funny thing is that this originated in prison as a way for men to signal they were open to anal sex with other men.

As a gay man I would NEVER wear such ill-fitting pants. There are five hundred ways to signal my interest in having sex with other men, and NONE of them involve pants hanging off my ass that way.

This style has been around for years...unfortunately.

It's a great way to weed out the lame guys. No one smart enough to use two mirrors to see one's backside would ever wear these.

I think they are idiots for wearing their pants in a way that in prison signifies that they are ready to be taken from behind.

Anyone who wears them looks like an idiot.

I see young adult males wearing it a lot (white, black, hispanic) - and I think it looks as if they have been forced to flee while taking a dump. I find it unhygienic and wonder what would they do if they ever had to run? Who would find this look attractive?
