I do think there's an advantage to that, especially if your child is one of the better students in his class, and if he/she's applying to an in-state university.

PG county kids might have an edge if they are black. However, I can tell you that many PG county kids will not be well prepared for college.

It depends who you ask.

MCPS parents whose kids didn't get into top colleges will say "yes", though. Well, more accurately, they will tell you about all those poor black kids stealing their snowflake's spot.
