All I can say is try 'em out in a store before committing. I spent a lot of time researching online, then we went to the store. I discovered pretty quickly that most wouldn't work for me, b/c I was short and I wanted a lower handle height.

In the end, we got a City Mini GT for it's adjustable handle. I bought a Maclaren umbrella on craigslist for travel and I just purchased the new Bob Jogger from REI which is the first Bob with an adjustable handle.

Have a bugaboo bee that I bought on Craigslist. Love it, maneuvers well, light, smallish, could face me and recline when the baby was tiny.

Had a Maclaren and a Phil & Ted. Loved both but used the Maclaren more.

I had a Baby Jogger City Mini - good for the mall, paved surfaces.

I also had a BOB Revolution, good for the park, unpaved - big for storage.

Now with an older child I have a McClaren Volo - very light weight.

+1 love our ub vista. I don't take metro (mostly on foot) and it's been great.

I love the lightness of our city mini gt. It's great for the car and travel.

We use our Britax B-Agile a lot (1-3 miles per day) -- so much that it's a year later and the wheels are noticeably worn down (but doing fine). I also look at other strollers a lot (I'm a guy). Britax and City Mini seem to be popular.

I also have and love the Cruz. It's a great middle of the road stroller -- more solid than an umbrella but not as huge and bulky as other options (like Uppababy Vista, City Select, Bob, etc.) Love that the seat can face forward or back, love the full recline, love the huge basket, love the simple and nice design.

I started with a Chicco Cortina travel system and hated that thing. It's just so ugly and doesn't move around well.

We also have $20 umbrella stroller from Babies R Us but we don't use it much because the Cruz is so light and convenient we can just use it.

Honestly, the only other stroller I'd even consider would be the CityMini, so look into both that and the Uppababy Cruz. No need to spend a fortune on an Uppababy Vista or other expensive stroller, but don't get anything super cheap like the Chicco because it's just crap.

Don't bother with those massive strollers like uppa baby vista, bugaboo frog etc ... this is a mistake all parents do. Nothing worse than trying to jam a side by side or giant boat into an elevator or metro.

Get the smallest lightest stroller unless you want a jogger.

For two kids this is the lightest and smallest (it's not expensive price isn't an issue for us we have gone through 4 $1000 dollar strollers sets and found them too big)

We have a Chicco Cortina travel system. The stroller was basically free (found a great deal where the travel system + extra base was cheaper than just the car seat + base).

To be honest, we don't use the stroller. I couldn't finagle walking the dog and pushing the stroller at the same time, so I stick baby in the ergo instead. In the grocery store, I wanted the full cart rather than just the stroller basket, so I stick baby in the carrier again. The only time we've used the stroller is at the mall, and any model would be fine for that.

We are suburbanites. If we lived in the city and were walking miles a day to run errands, I'd probably think differently. As it is, I'm glad I didn't get sucked into thinking I needed a fancy jogging stroller or expensive model with top notch handling. For my lifestyle, I don't need those things.

OP, you may want to kind of start backwards. How often will you use the stroller? Daily in the city? Will the stroller spend more time in the back of your car?

We have two strollers but use one multiple times each day. It is our "car" since we live in the city. It's made for city strolling - large basket underneath, great for wielding city streets, etc - but it does not fold easily.

Our second stroller is a Maclaren umbrella that we use only for travel and when we are ever in a car (rarely).

We used the Chicco Keyfit in a stroller caddy for the first 6 months. When DC transitioned to a convertible car seat, we also got a stroller. Loved the stroller caddy in the early days (light and easy to fold). I'm glad we waited to pick a stroller because I wasn't sure what I wanted from a stroller.

We also have the UppaBaby Cruz and BOB Revolution. Very happy with both. My husband is tall so he really likes the height of the handlebar on the UppaBaby. I love the rear facing and forward facing options, huge canopy with magnetic closure on top (instead of Velcro), big basket, easy to fold, and it stands upright when folded.

We got a BOB so we could run. I love it, but I can't see lugging this around to use as a primary stroller.

Currently expecting #2 so I've just started to really research the double stroller options...

As for single strollers-we were lucky that the strollers were gifts from relatives. We started off with the b-agile-which stays in my car. It is primarily our "out and about" stroller. It is very easy to collapse and relatively light weight. We also got a Bob Revolution stroller. We leave the BOB on the ground floor of our house and use it for neighborhood walks. Love having both- Bob is heavy and harder to collapse and would hate to lug it in and out of my trunk while the B-agile couldn't make it thru the rough terrain near our house.

We just splurged on a double bob since we use the single at least once a day (have a dog).

Still debating a double b-agile vs. the city select. Sometimes I wish I had gotten a city select for #1 since it is pretty expensive and just added a second seat as needed.
