Not everything is “choreographed” for political gain - even in the world of the Clintons. Chelsea and her husband were ready to start a family. That’s it. It shouldn’t have an impact on a possible campaign of Hillary’s - it is part of life for goodness sakes. If Chelsea’s pregnancy plays a role in any campaign, then the people of this nation have sunk pretty low - there are many more important things to consider.

It sucks that Chelsea can't do anything normal without it being scrutinized from a political perspective.

She's a 34 year old married woman. They have been married for 3+ years now - it's just "that time", you know?

I'm pretty sure the Clintons would have been beaming grandparents if Chelsea had gotten pregnant immediately.

I agree that it's silly to think Chelsea would make such a life-changing decision for its effect on the campaign. But nevertheless, it may affect the campaign and I wonder in which direction.

Are people more likely to move in her direction because of the adorable photos go her with the cuddly grandchild, or to feel that the idea of President Grandma is ludicrous. I know it sounds sexist, since we have had several presidents with grandchildren (Eisenhower and GHW Bush, for example), but realistically, what effect do you expect it to have?
