I live in DC and I think it's beautiful when it's subtle. Would be so hard to do myself! I'd leave it to a pro.

I like the ombre look too...and I see it plenty (like PP). As long as it is not over done, and too drastic. For this reason, I would be scared to attempt it myself. I have brown hair too and it tends to get brassy easily. So if you are in that camp, I might just give in to going to the salon.

I disagree that the ombre is over.

Many celebrities are still sporting this still trendy hair color.

If the trend were just a passing fad, then L'Oreal would not be marketing it as a boxed haircolor, would they?

I think it depends on where you live.

It may be more popular on the West coast vs. East coast because is always sunny there thus the need to sport sun kissed locks year round.

No, don't.Ombre is done and over. Just because you can buy a kit does not mean it is still in style.

I really love the ombre haircolor look.

It is really expensive to get it done in a salon and I have seen the at~home do it yourself kits L'Oreal sells.

Of course, they have pictures of Jlo in their magazine ads looking beautifully "sun kissed" w/her ombre locks just like the girl on the box.

I was thinking of buying one of these kits and trying to achieve the look at home on my own.

Has anyone tried doing this?

*Note: I realize this is a D.C. forum, I am a CA girl and maybe ombres are not popular there, if so I apologize. Sorry.

Any West Coast gals, could you give me some advice?

I love love Kloe Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Jessica Alba's and Jessica Biel's ombres.
