I was planning on doing it at the post office but didn't want to show up without a name/address to designate the money order to, if that is required.

No, you don't have to designate a recipient, just tell the cashier the amount and give them the cash. I usually buy them from 7-11 or the post office.

No. You just pay the money and get the money order. You can get them at grocery stores, USPS, etc.

I am sure this is a stupid question - please answer it anyway!

I have to buy a money order for a licensing fee. When I go to buy it do I have to designate a recipient? Having trouble googling this for some reason. I am not sure who I am supposed to make it out to, if I do have to designate a recipient. I was going to call the office and ask but realized maybe I don't need to designate a recipient at all - I am not familiar with how money orders work.
