I love crabapple trees.

I love dogwoods, I think their flowers are so pretty. Too bad they're so disease prone.

I also love cherries, ornamental apples, redbuds, magnolias. Pretty much anything.

Technically a bush, but I love lilacs.

I also love magnolia trees, even though the flowers are kind of stinky. I have good memories of playing inside the branches of an enormous magnolia.

What do magnolias smell like?

There are different varieties of magnolias. We grew up with the smaller kind that have a gentler scent. I didn't see large magnolias until I took classes at UVa.

What I posted was jacarandas.

Jacarandas will grow only in certain climates

I like the ornamental cherries, not the tidal basin ones, the ones with the big pink blossoms. Love them.

My favorite: redbuds, which are really magenta colored. They're out now and gorgeous. Weeping cherries and white dogwood flowers against green leaves are also sublime.
