We have used a air can that blows air. It is motion sensor so the cat can't jump when you are gone.

Do you have a cat tower? Cats like to be up.

You can cut the sharp ends of their nails with human nail clippers. You have to get them used to it. Pet them into a coma first, then squeeze their pads one at a time to make the nails stick out and cut them. It may take some practice on your part and some getting used to on the cat's part, but it means they can't scratch the furniture anymore.

My cats do that too. Getting on the counters and scratching here and there out of fun. I do the water spray and a loud no or sound of my feet or a gentle swat but that doesn't help much. What helps is playing with them and making them tired. When they start jumping on the counter, I play with them with a wand type string toy. They jump and run a lot with that. As soon as they get tired and squat down somewhere, I start my cooking.

Aww...Sounds just like my little naughty kitty.

The best advice I can give is to continue training her while she is young...but please do not "swat" her too hard.

I yell at my kitty and she does test me, but I have never hit her.

I am a cat person. I love cats. I have never had such an ill-behaved cat before. She will not stop jumping on counters to steal food. We keep a spray bottle out to spray her when she jumps on stuff. We tell her no and remove her. Sometimes we even give her a swat. If she sees the bottle she will run away, but she has to feel a threat before she stops misbehaving. She is also using everything, including the walls, as a scratching post. I have never seen a cat scratch walls before. All of our furniture is being ruined. Is she a bad seed or am I doing something wrong?

She also does some really adorable things and the kids love her so we can't get rid of her.

She is probably about 8 months old.
