I can spot several things in the long list of amenities posted by PPs that I wouldn't personally want. To switch them out would cost enough that < $100,000 wouldn't cut it.

I am happy for you guys, though. Truly. My sister is deliriously content in a lifestyle I couldn't handle, and I am thrilled to see her so happy. To see her ahoy makes me happy, I mean it. That doesn't mean I'd wish it switch out my address, say, for op's.

Op here, I'm not sure what's wrong with me, but I was just wondering about all the people who can't feel happy who, apparently make a lot more than I do. I think $70,000 seems pretty low for this area. (Oh and I'm super happy in pg county. No need to be snooty!!!)

I'm with you, OP. I don't feel poor at all either. We make about 120K and have a small 3 br close in Virginia with a $2500/mo mortgage. Excellent elementary school for one little girl and another on the way. We belong to our community pool, we go to Florida once or twice a year (to visit relatives & sometimes go to Disney) and recently bought a pre owned Subaru Forester with only 30,000 miles on it. We usually shop at Safeway for dinner (we loved that they used to have Military Mondays, and the gas discounts) but occasionally we shop at Whole Foods and /or eat out. We put a couple hundred dollars away each month for the kids' future, but other than wishing that $ amount could be more, I can't imagine what more could we want?! Life is good!


Oh, and I forgot to add, good health insurance! Thank God for that. We have definitely made use of it.
