Every table around us was angry and they appeared to lock the doors (at 7:30pm) after we left as they clearly were overwhelmed and couldn't handle any more customers. We had waited 90+minutes for our food.

So we came home and I had some frozen vegetarian chicken tenders and hummus/pretzels. Rest of family is having grilled chicken and baked potatoes, I will join them for some roasted cauliflower.

Where did you go? And why don't you eat with your family?

Well I am actually visiting extended family right now with my daughter who is an infant. I was particularly hungry when we got home (breastfeeding makes me famished!) so I ate a quick meal while they made a more in depth one.

Scrounged in the fridge too and came up with steamed, mashed parsnips with butter; kale with onions and garlic in tomato sauce; and fried eggs. Kids hated it. I thought it was delish.

Leftover pizza for me and the kids, chicken apple sausages for husband. Corn on the cob and fruit salad for all.

I don't get the guilt.

Ribeyes on the grill with tomato and onion salad. DH did all the shopping/cooking (Sat is "his" day to cook) so I didn't spend anytime on shopping/prep

I did the fridge and pantry raid too! chicken strips, frozen veggies all warmed up with a butter-wine-parsley-dill sauce (and a little cornstarch to thicken). Over cous cous. Love the idea of having pork chops handy. I'm not sure I would ever have pork chops just hanging out in the fridge.

OP, why should you feel guilty? That's ridiculous. You served your family a satisfying meal.

We are having frozen haddock from TJ's, steamed broccoli, and rice pilaf.

DD had friends over plus the weather was awesome so I threw hot dogs, beef and turkey burgers on the grill. 30 minutes and I was done. Made the run to Sweet Frog afterward. Yum.

We're having cube steak pork chops (breaded in GF bread crumbs, then oven-baked) frozen green beans, frozen corn, and canned sweet potatoes. Today was so nice outside that I forgot to go to the grocery store until it was time to put dinner on the table. I had to go with what was in the fridge and pantry. The pork chops took 2 minute to prepare and 12 or so to bake. The veggies took 5 minutes to nuke. I feel like I should feel guilty, but plates were empty and we had time for a frozen yogurt run.
