You have a few choices:

-Arlington parks and rec is great, you miiight get in for the summer session but it's unlikely

-capital in Burke

-Chantilly Academy off 50 in Chantilly

-GMS which is right off 66 just past Fairfax

Ask about a trial class at the three private gyms. Arlington doesn't do trials, but again it's unlikely a non resident will get in.

why would boys be taking gymnastics?

My daughter takes classes at Capital Gymnastics. I was impressed with all the boys there. Most gymnastics places I've been to only have a few. The boys at CG range from wee ones (3ish) to teens doing impressive stunts on the rings.

That's too bad! We took two gymnastics classes through the county. The first one was terrific, and we loved the teacher. The second one was ok, not terrible, but the teacher wasn't too bad with the boys. Sounds like your teacher doesn't really get that 3-year-olds are not so great with "holding positions."

I would recommend classes through Arlington instead, but unfortunately, they fill up long before non-resident signup. (we moved from FFX to ARL.)

Wow, we too have DS in Parktakes gymnastics and had a very positive experience.

Chantilly Academy has a great preschool program.

Have you tried Little Gym? I wouldn't call it pure gymnastics at that age but they clearly are laying the foundation.

We are having a decidedly disappointing experience with a Fairfax Parktakes gymnastics class. All but two boys already have apparently dropped out and the teacher just is not good with young children. After the first class, the teacher complained to me that three-year-olds were supposed to be "holding their positions". She spent half her time yelling at the kids. Does anyone have a gymnastics teacher or class that they have loved?
