But she and other DCPS folks last night seem to think that diversity will improve school quality. That is their reason for wanting diversity.

Apparently Abigail Smith goes around saying that her two objectives are diversity and predictability. I haven't heard a mention of school quality.

The guy in this article on Boston's school choice hit the nail on the head: busing won't work--you need to improve school quality starting with retaining good teachers in order to create quality neighborhood schools.
