I talked with the folks at Whole Foods. They stopped carrying rabbit, nation-wide, a few years ago, when they found out their supplier was not treating the animals to their standards (not treating them well). They stopped selling it within 24 hours, just pulled it from the shelves. They will not sell it again until they find a supplier acceptable to them. I am very impressed with Whole Foods--I know some people bash Whole Foods a lot here, but you have to admit, this makes me feel better for paying their ridiculous prices!

This made me laugh. They kill them for food. I'd say that's not treating them well.

Whatever you do, don't serve it on Easter like my mother used to. She thought it was funny.

Balducci's has it. You can also order it from D'Artagnan.

At the Bethesda Farmers' Market (the one at Bethesda Elementary on Sunday, not the Women's Farm Market), the meat guy that has the big black trailer has rabbit. I forget his name--I usually go to the other, smaller meat guys.

Harris Teeter seems to have it- but also in the frozen section. Or at least I've only noticed it there.

I've seen them at my regular grocery store (Stop & Shop, which I believe is Giant to you) but I would think Whole Foods would carry it as well.

Ok, ok. I'll be serious. I looked into this one autumn and several people recommended The Organic Butcher in McLean.

WHole Foods has young rabbit quarters sometimes, but not fresh. Frozen. I haven't seen fresh rabbit since moving here.
