I noticed that some of the specialty schools are holding Open Houses. Has anyone attended any? If so, what should one expect? Do you meet any of the teachers? The one's I have seen advertised are during school hours.

OP here. We ended up enrolling her at Phyllis E Williams for the Spanish Immersion. The staff and principal seem excited and hope this program is as successful at the French one. I'm excited after going to the school. Worst case we can pull her out. She had also won a spot in the Imagine Leeland Charter school but we declined and held out for the results of the immersion program.
To the person who asked about the wait list number. You can check online if you know your application ID number or the letter in the mail says if your child placed or has a wait list number. We placed for Spanish but had a wait list number of 126 for French.

No first hand information but I have a good friend with a Kindergartener who is happy with the school. There are also a bunch of families in my neighborhood whose kids have gotten in over the years who are happy with the program. There were some growing pains when the school first opened 4 or 5 years ago in Cheverly (now they are in a new location) but I think there have been staff changes since then.

Our child was placed in Judith P Hoyer Montessori School. I've been researching the school since I received the notice. I'm not impressed so far simply because there is not a lot of information out there on this school. Anyone have any information they can share? Good or bad. I'm leaning toward declining and going the private school route.

Our child was placed at John Hanson's French Immersion program. She also placed at one of the Imagine Charter schools. We are currently trying to determine which school would be better. Any thoughts?

Mine did. I'm very nervous and not getting enough info to make a decision. She also got placed and enrolled at a charter and I don't want to pull her out in case I'm totally sure....

Our daughter placed for the Spanish Immersion at Phyllis E Williams. Kind of nervous since it's a first year program... The alternative is to send her to the Catholic school where we live. Did anybody else's kid place for this school? Are you nervous? Thoughts?
