I think you want a finish carpenter for this, but a handyman who knows how to do it (and has an electric miter saw) could do it. My husband put trim around all of my (trimless) windows before we were married.

Pp, why are you suggesting sanding? Seems like that would be more labor intensive (and lead paint dust flying everywhere) so more expensive.
PP here.
Because stripping is a real pain and it's hard not to have an accident working next to wood floors.
But I'll admit I don't worry about lead dust like I should.

Very good handyman/contractor: you can also use flooring company but we've had good experience with handyman/contractor who is very adept at this kind of thing.

OP
You need a very good carpenter to do this. The walls are likely out of plumb and you need someone who knows how to make everything fit correctly

Wouldn't sand, due to possible lead paint.
If you need to strip old paint, google peel away 7

Handyman, but make sure you get a recommendation for his trim work.

Handyman.
Let me vote for not replacing the original trim though! Can you just have someone sand it down really well and repaint?

What type of company am I looking for?
Flooring companies (wood and carpet said they don't do base trim).
Do I call a general contractor, handy man or carpenter?
