Are you both of the same sex? Contrary to the flood of tolerance for gays in the media these days, very few people are actually gay (maybe 3% of the population) so if this is a same-sex attraction, my guess is she doesn't play on your team.

It doesn't sound like she is upset. She may just not wanna give off the wrong impression. Just be a friend dude, but don't be creepy!!!! Just treat her like any other friend...sounds like she liked you for that anyway. She may have just seen you as a friend and when her gal friends asked that she may have realized you were too close. Remember kids-love is a choice! Crush is-just an attraction.

Eh, maybe she just isn't ready for a bf if this is how she reacted. Don't beat yourself up. It's not her fault or yours. It just isn't time. Just work on being the best friend to her you can be. You obviously did something right to make her enjoy hanging out with you for a year. As long as ya just be friendly and let God handle the rest you'll be fine. Dude, remember, cause by the sound of it your still in high school looking for some adult advice, it will get easier when you get older. Take a chill pill and relax. 1. Is she over 18? If so, think of and refer to her as a woman, not a girl.

2. This may seem like a shocking suggestion, but ask her. "Hey, I thought we liked each other and were having fun. But for the last couple of months you've seemed a bit distant. Everything okay?"

3. Tell her how you feel.

So this girl and I have been hanging out a little over a year and we got pretty close. We would text alot and chat alot. She laughed at alot of my jokes and I'm not really that funny...and she seamed pretty comfotable around me...the only problem is that she is very private. Like really private. So, a couple months ago her friends came up to her and caught her of guard by asking what was up between us. I guess she was embarrassed so she said nothing. Ever since though, she has been kinda cold towards me. Not hostile, but more " not making an effort". I miss hanging with her, but she doesn't seem to wanna give off any impressions to her friends. I just don't get it...I'm totally cool just being friends with her, but she doesn't seem to wanna do anything with me. We were really close...why would she just start ignoring me cause of some off hand opinions from some friends?
