I was at Boulevard Woodgrill last Friday and saw plenty of 40-somethings. Not a particularly hopping bar, most were at tables, but I hear the food's good. (I was just meeting someone quickly; didn't stay.)

I second the recommendation for Lyon Hall. Every time I'm there I see a real range of ages.

40+ is tough in Clarendon, but try Lyon Hall or Eventide. Green Pig too, but it's small so gets crowded quickly. If you head to Ballston, try Republic (new place on Wilson and Quincy), or Willow.

We'll be in Courthouse/Clarendon area of Arlington tonight and would love to go to a good happy hour and maybe grab some decent food while we're at it. We're not part of the recent grad crowd, so not looking for the ambiance of a place like Wilson Tavern, but it doesn't have to be super upscale or anything. Is there a place with a good happy hour where we can also get good bar food? If not, can you recommend a laid back place to grab a meal afterwards? thanks in advance.
