We did it ourselves. Ordered it from Amazon, something with a lot (100+) of favorable reviews.

Make sure you turn off the electricity at the circuit panel. I think we used a bucket to catch any drips. Beyond that, if you have a basic set of tools you should be fine.

The biggest hassle is putting something on the floor in front of the cabinet so you are more comfortable while working on your back down there.

Do it yourself. I did one myself when I was 20 with a manual (and I'm female). The only thing is the smell is awful.

Just went through this. Get the Badger 900- not the super expensive silent ones which are great, if you plan on mulching your tree branches but are overkill for other things.

it is really easy to do yourself.

othersise I would have a plumber you trust do it. HD subcontractors are hit or miss.

It literelyl takes 15 minutes. You go to Home depot get a good sized one with decent HP. Go home disconect the power to the old one, loosen 3 screws, undo the pipe going to it, a simple pair of pliers works, lift old one up and turn and it comes down. Get some teflon tape, costs $1 and wrap the threads lift up new ones, tighten screws, attach pipe hook up power and done

oh, shut off the water and electricy under sink beofre starting.

Our 15-year old garbage disposal called it quits last night. It is not clogged or anything. I know how to use an allen wrench to open the blades and reset it, but it just makes an whirring sound and the blades won't spin. It's at the end of its life.

What is my best option for replacement? Should I go to Home Depot or Lowes and have them do the installation? Or should I call a plumber? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Neither my husband nor I have the skill, knowledge, or time to undertake replacement by ourselves. Thanks!
