Huh? I am not thinking of having a face like the women on Desperate Housewives, whose faces no longer move. I'm talking about botox on my forehead so that I'm not looking tired, angry, or negative. My skin and face do not look like an old 50 year old person who has spent too much time in the sun or abused their skin. The rest of my forehead and my face is perfectly smooth, except for these two frown lines. I hope that more botox will do the trick, and that I will not need fillers. Thank you to those of you who have shared your experiences.

You don't get it. Not Op but the one that first posted about filler, before I did anything every day someone would make the comment that I looked mad, upset, worried...

This is along the lines of what I'm thinking. I assume that if it does not look right aka done, I will have to pay for more? Right. It's been a month and a week.

yes, 20 units of Botox will often not be enough to paralyze the 11's. I've had it many times and I still have a tiny bit of a furrow. I agree with the previous poster that you may need filler. If you're 50 that line has probably been there a long time and has become a permanent indentation in the skin. Filler can help erase this.

You probably need more botox to get to where you would like to be. Usually, they will under inject the first time to see how your face reacts (don't want to overdue it). My nurse schedules an appointment two weeks after the initial injection to see if more is needed. Maybe contact your doctor's office if too much time hasn't gone by or ask for more botox next time you go.

OP again. The rest of my face is doing just fine. It's the 11 lines that make me look perpetually worried, or angry or both.

They only sell the filler in a vial; prices can be $400-700 depending on the brand. You can try shopping around but I didn't find much difference in price, it was about 5 years ago. Yes, the combo of Botox & filler made my very deep line just about disappear. (I could pinch & hold a dime between my eyebrows before) Thankfully it lasted about 18 months and does still seem much more less noticeable even 4 years later. Don’t remember what filler I had. You will probably have lots of filler left after your “11 lines” so think about other little wrinkles & spots you want to hit up with it, no reason to let it go to waste. Before you could keep the left-over filler up to six months if you needed a touch up.

You could get the filler now with the round of Botox you currently have. I know my place liked to do Botox first then filler after the Botox had set in. The Botox will not be enough, not matter how much you get, to fill in those lines.

I have noticed this too with my deeper lines. I do not get the glass-like look that I thought I would. I will say that it is still a huge improvement.

I am 50 and I paid $400 for 20 units of Botox for the deep 11 lines on forehead with a reputable DC dermatologist on Feb 26. She showed me how the lines would go away based on how they disappear if the skin is pulled up. I went back 2 weeks after and there were faint lines that were an improvement but not perfect. She said she hoped they would continue to fade bc I could not crinkle my forehead. Now, when I look the lines are there sometimes and not others. Has anyone had experience w Botox not working as well as you expected? If so, what did you do? Suggestions? Thanks.
