Aveda in Bethesda is pretty bad in my opinion. No space so you are forced into tiny spaces. Staff isn't professional. They get a lot of walk ins - I don't see it as a regular salon. they are not supervised by Aveda corporate. When I had a problem at Aveda in Bethesda, corporate said they buy the franchise but are on their own. They only highlighted a few strands because colorist was in a huge rush that day but I paid full price of course! I have had highlights done for 15 years and this was the only time it took 6 minutes to put in the foils!! Owner really didn't care. They don't make their money on repeat customers.

Don't assume there is a standard set of procedures or guidelines for these salons.

You may have been lucky at an Aveda salon but I don't think you will get a lot of positive responses for the Bethesda location. Not sure if other locations get better reviews but please check before going.

New to the area and I love getting my color done at Aveda. Looking for recommendations for a great colorist at Aveda--I can go to Reston, Bethesda, or anywhere in NoVA. DC is too hard for me to go into. Thanks!
