Two Rivers had one of the highest re-enrollment rates last year, per the PCSB. Certainly no school is a match for everyone who enrolls, but it's just not true that classes change completely, or anywhere close to that.

88.9% re-enrollment, and that's encompassing middle school, where as PPs have mentioned, more attrition does happen than at elementary, for a variety of reasons - including those who are happy at TR but want a secure/different path through high school. It's a high number even compared to strong charters that are elementary only.

Totally untrue and inaccurate that the whole class will change in 3-4 yrs. it's fine that you chose to leave, but it's not ok to grossly exaggerate the attrition.

I'm a 2Rivers parent of a 3rd grader and I haven't seen my child's class change at all. More and more are staying for the middle school, too. If you have a great IB middle school, then then considering middle school when you are enrolling in PS doesn't make as much sense. But a lot of people with good IB elementary schools seem to think they have no option for middle school.

But isn't it only sought after for elementary and not such a big deal for middle school? A PP just said that people pull there children out so in 3-4 years it a whole new class...

Former TR parent: Skip it. We pulled out DC for a better IB school with better playground and other facilities. Many other parents pull out kids at different grades, so that the class your DC starts with will change completely within 3-4 years. Just a friendly observation.

Current TR parent here. It's funny, before our son was enrolled there, I was convinced this would be a big deal. but once you see them play on the playground, you realize they don't really care if it's big or small -- they just want to be with their friends. They're all having a great time. And there's a big indoor space for PE which is a great asset considering how many days the winter weather hasn't allowed for outdoor play anyway. remember, they aren't there in the summer months anyway.

Another current TR PS3 parent, and we love the school too. The outdoor space situation is a bummer, but like the PP said the kids don't seem to mind, and I just aim to work in as much outdoor time on weekends/summer/vacation as possible.

Current TR mom here: The playground is small, but the kids don't seem to mind. Teachers also take kids out in front of the school and they write with chalk or play games out on the sidewalk.
