Hm. I guess I do not know and that is the question I need to ask. Thanks! I am correct, then, that the only thing I need to worry about, really, is how much commission they are seeking for the sale of my home? We are VERY new to this. Inherited a property we need to sell.

That is what I cannot quite figure out. This is not a new-to-the-game realtor. Rather, someone experienced and well known in the neighborhood as the "go to" realtor. I feel like it is a "too good to be true" scenario. Guess I will just run with it. Or do I use it to get a better deal with another realtor - like the one who is the "go to" in the neighborhood in which we want to buy?

No - sorry for confusion. 2% when I sell and 2% when I buy. 3% to buyer's agent for my current house.

It is normal for less experienced agents trying to garner sales listings.

Well known and quality realtor just offered us 2% commission on selling and buyingemd, total of 4%. Is this the going rate now? I know Redfin is a bit less, but we want a more known entity who we know has proven results in our neighborhood.
