Could you share stats too?

DD, 3.85 GPA, 33 ACT got accepted to WUSTL, UChicago, NYU, UVA and Cornell. I think she's leaning toward UChicago.

DC loves Columbia! It's pretty stressful there - Huffington Post consistently rates it one of the most, or the most, academically stressful schools. But DC has made great friends and loves NYC.

Spelman has some heavyweight alums but too bad there's no grad school.

Wouldn't such a thread be a lovely thing? The nastier posters could all tell us why our kids' state schools or SLACs stink, or alternatively why paying for an Ivy education is like throwing money down the toilet.

Will decide in the next week but I am discouraging UMD only because I think it would be great to have the experience of going away instead of staying local. Of course, local would have been fine if no other options elsewhere.

Nice choices! What does he want to major in?
Strong interest in neuroscience and probably minor in a long studied foreign language.
