OP here. Thanks all--scored at Iron Gate, and honestly it was the best dining experience we've had since Citronelle tasting. Really wonderful, cozy, romantic.... Great time; highly recommend!

All three are total winners. With all the buzz, I'm not sure you can get a reservation at Iron Gate.

Makoto can be physically uncomfortable if you are tall. You might not fit under the tables. My husband is so we had bar reservations but I still couldn't relax in the bar chairs--(the stools might have been backless). The food was amazing though.

Makato. Haven't been to iron gate...sushi taro is good, but Makato is a much better dining experience with better food.

Iron Gate has great buzz right now, and is great for a date night if that is what you are after. The new chef is phenomenal and the scene now reopened is less stuffy
