Me too, I feel super lucky! I'm 10 yrs older than DH and his mom had him young, so I'm actually a little closer to her in age than I am to DH, yet she has ALWAYS been so nice to me, welcoming, very cool. Same with DH's father/FIL, he's been especially amazing. DH and I had our worst fight ever at their house many years ago and his Dad was so sweet to me and calmed me down and talked to DH on my behalf, awesome.

They often call me instead of DH because they know they'll get me (DH doesn't always answer his phone), and I'm more the keeper of our calendar anyway.

They are really super cool. And really that applies to his extended family too: his grandmothers, aunt, cousins, they are all great.

Love my MIL. And not because she babysits or does tasks for me -- she actually too old too.

I enjoy her company -- a genuinely warm woman. She has her faults, but overall, a joy. And she loves DS more than anyone on earth. For sure. It's a joy to watch her with him.

FIL, not so much but they are divorced so don't see him as much.

Oh, and my BIL is awesome as his wife and stepson. SIL is ok too, could be a lot worse.

My husband's parents are sweet, good to us, and wonderful grandparents. They are pleasant to be around, and sure, while after a week together some things they do start to grate on me, all in all I think I got very lucky.

My husband's siblings are awesome, and I get along well with their spouses as well. I was actually introduced to my husband by his sister.

My own sibling's spouses are pretty great too. Both my husband and I grew up in loving, laid-back families without a lot of drama, and I think as a result we all picked really nice partners and continue to get along. So yeah, out of my 9 in-laws, we don't have any bad seeds, which is pretty amazing.

Love them. They are so kind, thoughtful, and inspiring. We're family and help one another out as much as we can. It's great to know you have that love and support to fall back on.

I love mine

I do, my mil is one and generous, and sil has become another sister. My sisters dh and my dh have become bffs

My MIL is wonderful. Very caring, great lady! I love when she visits because she's very organized and helps me with organizing the mess of my two children's toys and clothes.

However, my BIL is something else.

I love my MIL. She has always welcomed me into the family as a daughter, always been generous. She is funny, outgoing, and has been a good model for me on how to be a caring if not overbearing mother. I actually prefer her company to that of my own mother.

My FIL has passed away, but he was a sweet, if extremely introverted man. Nothing bad to say about him other than he was so very shy.

My SIL and BIL are so good my kids, who adore them. My other BIL is friendly and interesting and fun to talk with. He's also good with my kids.

I feel pretty luck in the IL department, even if my IL's aren't necessarily people I'd have gone out of my way to friend if they weren't related to me by marriage. We're all different in many ways, but I respect them as good people.

Yes.

They are sweet, well-intentioned, generous, and pleasant to talk with. I see them often now that there are grandchildren in the picture, and enjoy their company. Occasionally they annoy me. I'm sure occasionally I annoy them. That's part of being a family.

Me! I do! My inlaws are great- offer to babysit all the time, supportive, kind and thoughtful. LOVE THEM!

So many bad stories, I wonder if there are any good stories? Anyone want to share praise of their MIL, SIL, BIL, FIL, etc that they actually like?
