Do you homeschool? I love the opportunity to spend 24/7 with my child, so I agree with you there, but I'm curious how you manage it on a daily basis as a single parent. I'm not sure that it's something I aspire to even if I won the lottery. I might choose to homeschool, but I imagine my kid would still play sports, and do other activities outside the house.

We've done a mix of vacations alone, and vacations with another family, often another single mom.

I only have 1 kid, which does make it easier but some trips that we've enjoyed on our own.

Rocky Mountains in Canada
Disney
Universal Orlando
Ski vacation (a great choice if you want a break from your kids, because you can put them in ski school)
A beach resort in Florida

Single mom here. That's absolutely true. I go for the kid's sake, but it's worse because it's 24-7 togetherness and no one to pass off to. Last year, we did Disney. This year, I'm trying a cruise. Hope the kid will stay in the kid's club.

I am a single mom, and the person you are quoting. Do not get me wrong, I take my child on mini trips, but not on a vacation. OP said she wants to go alone but not sure if she means alone with the kids. If alone, have your family watch the kids, even if for a weekend, and get away.

OP here. Are there any resorts or programs designed for single parents? I googled and came up with nothing.

The FDR resort in Jamaica looks promising with a dedicated nanny.

Last year I took my three kids on a cruise - all inclusive, kids' camps, etc.

Go to an all inclusive resort with kids club, that way you can eat and drink at times that work for you and for your kids and they have kids clubs there too so they can enjoy some kiddie time while Mom relaxes in the pool, at the beach or wherever.

I have a 3yo and 5yo. Looking to go on vacation alone for the first time. I feel like our family friends all travel together with the mom, dad and kids. Prefer a place with a kid's club where my kids can go for a few hours so I can also relax.
