Do you belong to AAA? I get life insurance offers from them all the time that do not require any medical disclosure if you are a member. Probably not the cheapest insurance out there, but if you're otherwise effectively barred, you may want to join.

Did you try for the higher amount as spousal coverage through work? My current and previous employers both allowed up to $50,000 in spousal coverage without any medical clearance/disclosures. Amounts beyond $50,000 required disclosures.

I realize you may need/want a higher amount, but this could be a good starting point if they allow the smaller amount. The cost should also be minimal.

I have cancer, and can tell you, I am considered too high of a risk. I did find a company that would insure me....I was looking to a 500K policy, but it was $12s5K/yr, which is more than my take home salary.

For me, the cost is in line with my probable lifespan (30% chance of making 5 year)

Is this just impossible?

Trying to find some basic level of life insurance for DW (say, $250,000) who is a SAHM and a cancer survivor (9 years clear).

Tried to get it through my work (spousal coverage) but was denied based on the medical disclosures.

Any suggestions? Call a broker?
