It's disturbing how many people use the internet or facebook to stalk people/spy/find out details and then try to use that information to get one over on the other person, whether in the work place or among social circles.
I think it comes from a lack of purpose/meaningfulness in one's own life. They need to feel like they're in the know in order to feel important.
