Circumcision was our last option.
It took 3 days off school and a week to heal and be back to normal. It was painful for first 2 days :o( even with all the painkillers.

You do realize it's painful for days regardless of age. Right? Newborns just process and express it differently. It's also much more disgusting to have an open wound covered in feces and urine.

Just like the anti-vacc crazies, the anti-circ crazies never mention the numerous disadvantages.

We don't really have proof of a problem that requires medical surgery, so you're jumping the gun a bit. Circ guys have genital issues as well.

sounds like phimosis

I had an uncircumcised boyfriend (German) who had this. He laughs about it -- said the dr gave him a special cream had had to rub in on himself daily for 6 weeks.... around age 12.... he didn't mind the treatment.

DH experienced this and had to have a circ.

The good news is that there is nothing wrong after the procedure.

Some buys are predisposed to issues and benefit from circ.

How traumatic was it for your son to be circumsized as a boy instead of an infant? How long did it take to heal?

Go see the doctor, but likely you just need a steroid cream that you apply for about 6 weeks.

Sorry for the TMI.
Please check when ur DS is peeing - does the top balloon ?Is the pee coming out properly - full flow. It might not hurt but if he is not able to pee properly- you might want to see the doctor. My DS had similar problem when he was 8 yr old. His Pedi told us everything looked good, no infections nothing and asked us to make sure to keep it very clean but over the next few months it started hurting to pee and we had to get it circumcised. Sometimes it heals by itself - depends on individual.

My son is 8. He is uncircumcised. Sorry if this is TMI.

As recently as a couple of months ago he was able to pull the foreskin back from his penis with no problem. He let me know recently that he cannot anymore and it hurts ..looks like there are little cuts on it. Its not particularly red or anything. It doesn't hurt to pee or anything...just pull it back.

I have searched on the web. I have a call into the nurse, but she hasn't called me back yet.

Have you had this happen with your son? What was it? Adhesions? What is the treatment?
