Not the healthiest option but a classic: Fried chicken and potato salad!

We're doing that tonight - Frozen!! Our picnic dinner includes turkey and cheese roll-ups served on a stick, fruit, milk and popcorn of course. Kids will have the option of add-ins for their popcorn (DS usually does sprinkled cheese, while DDs usually go for m&ms').

We do the "movie night picnic" every once in a while through the winter. When the weather is nice, we try to do a picnic in the park once a week with friends. It's usually just a simple dinner of cheese, charcuterie, bread, and fruit. Maybe a pasta salad occasionally. Juice for the kids, wine for the adults. Afterwards, we walk over to the ice cream place or the fro-yo store before we all head home. We can't wait for some real Spring weather so we can start this back up!

Other than that, we do fondue and movie night occasionally (just cheese and chocolate fondue).

what are some fun ideas for Friday dinner with the kids that can be done like a picnic? We are thinking of having Friday movie nights, where the kids would eat on the floor, and get to watch movies as a treat vs. eating at the dinner table.
