You can do both family and white belt classes. Your child will progress faster if he/she goes to belt level classes at least once in a while. They are both great teachers. Shane may actually be better but Master A has the adoring mommy club thing going on.

why so expensive? how are they any different from the other studios in the area? and the 3 month commitment with summer approaching sounds like a chore. they don have a nice camp program that I will check out instead. Thanks!
This is the PP above that said "YIKES!!" . DS just took 2 trial classes and all I can say is THANK YOU to all of you who recommended this studio. Very nurturing and well-run studio. We are for sure signing up and doing summer camp

My serious martial-artist DH is very impressed with the instruction at Flying Kick. It's been a tremendous place for our DC with sensory-motor dyspraxia and low tone.

NP here. I think it is different. The instructors really get to know and nurture each kid. You get the sense that they actually care. They also have classes 7 days a week during the school year, which most studios don't do. Just in the summer, if you will be out of town they will let you put your tuition on hold for a week or more at a time if you tell them ahead of time.

Assuming your child is elementary school aged, I think it costs about $500 for three months, and you can go to whatever classes on the schedule are offered for your level (plus any "family class" which are all ages/ranks). I think they generally recommend going around twice (or maybe 3x) a week-- once a week doesn't provide enough reinforcement and going too much can cause burnout.
