OP here. Thanks! We definitely have silicone molds ready and I used them before, but not all of the crayons broke free right. I've ordered a large box of Crayolas so hopefully that does the trick. Now that I think about it, we probably did use cheap crayons before.
Good idea about practicing before and having crayons ready if the ones at the party are an epic fail.
Btw, I read a tip about putting the crayons in warm water- apparently the wrappers will peel right off.
