ED poster again... My treatment center was $2500/day and my insurance covered all of it. But while I was there I saw many girl who weren't ready to leave have to go because their insurance ran out.

I went to treatment for my eating disorder because in California my friends called the police and put a 5150 hold on me. I was inpatient for 3 months and learned some excellent tips while I was there on how to hide my eating disorder, new tricks to lose weight and lots of stories about lying. I wasn't ready to get better and only went there because I was forced to be in treatment and when I got out my eating disorder was worse than ever. The lies, oh the lies I told!!! I had never used laxatives before and after treatment I learned that was a great weightloss technique! It wasn't until I WAS READY and I WANTED TO GET BETTER that treatment worked. You have to want it and do it for yourself.

I agree with the others if he's clean then rehab will not work. Google the Williamsburg house in Williamsburg- they have a variety of programs. Beware though - it's not cheap. My sister spent some time drying out there at a tune of about 10k a WEEK (insurance paid about 75%, if I remember correctly(

PP who originally suggested Al-Anon. I worked at a residential treatment facility for 5 years. If the family can afford the price tag, its an option, if he wants to go. But no way the family should take on a financial burden they can't handle to send him there, especially if he isn't 100% committed to his recovery. Even after mutliple stints at rehab, he will likely relapse.

Seriously, OP- get to Al-Anon. It sounds to me that he already has plenty of resources and he needs to work the steps himself.

I wish you luck but until he wants to get sober your research and all that is not going to help him. He may go through the motions and all that but until he decides it is time ............

speaking from experience and this might be cold to say you need to hear it and also talk to him the same way. An addict will say, do, and try anything to get what they want.

None of the places have any ballpark on cost though.
I know it's all about insurance but is it $10K a month or something like that?

Don't worry about what it is like. You need to go to your own therapist to learn to stop being a part of their drama, how to implement tough love, and how to not enable the behavior.

A friend of a friend went to an inpatient place somewhere in northern Maryland. Sorry I don't have more info, but he spoke highly of the place.

Does he have insurance? I would talk to the insurer and get information about what's covered. You may need to call several places as waiting lists can be extensive. Be prepared to have him travel.

I an sorry. Several rehabs are in Winchester. Just google winchester rehab to find some. You local hospital should have a alcohol/drug counselor that can point you in the right direction help find one that fits in your budget. They can also help with an intervention.

I've got a family member who is an alcoholic, and has a mental illness that makes him destructive- which of course affects the rest of us.
He has been to AA. We've sat with him at other support groups. He has a psychiatrist and a therapist.
I'm thinking that all these are just not cutting it anymore and we need a stronger intervention.

Can you tell me about rehab? How do you find a place? How much does it cost? Has it been effective?
Any leads for rehab places would be helpful.
