Our children go to frog pond and overall we have been very happy with it. The indoor activities seem developmentally appropriate - crafts, dolls, media tables, soft mat play area, etc., and the children usually have two - three "centers" to choose from at once. We also love the teachers.

Any other feedback on Frog Pond? I was not all that impressed with the inside. Classrooms seemed somewhat disorganized, not a lot on the walls, not a lot of books, etc. The philosophy sounds great and the outdoor time is great (though it's about 2 hours which other centers offer too) and primarily I was pleased to hear the teachers have BA degrees and science backgrounds and that they focus on developmentally appropriate activities and curricula. Anyone have a child there that can comment on the indoor activities, or the teachers?

Thanks for the input. Yes, we have taken the tour. Also, they are only open until 6PM. It is a big financial stretch, which is the reason I am hesitant.

We are a Frog Pond family. It is financially a stretch for us but worth it. The money goes to organic food and animal care but also to retain excellent teachers who are committed to the school and its mission of nature-based learning and Conscious Discipline. True, the building is not sparkly and super-modern, but it is clean and safe, the children are loved, and they spend a ton of time outside anyway. I highly recommend it!

I toured there as well. I thought the staff were very nice, but wasn't impressed by the facilities (grimy, the basement classroom smelled musty, etc.). That said, I do like the philosophy. Ultimately, we're still looking.

We're not a Frog Pond family but we did do a tour of the facilities. I think the extra cost is because they have extended hours that go until 7pm, all of the foods are organic, and they have to provide for and care for the livestock on site.

I really liked the facilities overall as well as their philosophy. Have you taken a tour yet?

Considering Frog Pond but the tuition is higher than other comparable child care centers. Anyone with enrolled children that can comment if the increased price is worth it? Anyone decide against it? Where did you end up?
