Anyone who says anything other than "Sidwell, STA and NCS" has a child in another school and wants them to be big three.

Newsflash: big three has always referred to those schools. It does not refer to Holton, GDS, and Maret, all of which are excellent schools.

How does NCS actually differentiate itself from Holton in 2014 such as to be deemed "bigger"? Sincere question and don't have child in either school.

I agree - but as a grad of NCS I do think of NCS and STA as pretty separate. So in my mind the big 3 are always Sidwell, NCS, STA.

Why? Granted, they are separate, but only together do they make a whole (as the society is neither all male nor female) unless you believe one pulls along the other.
