I get it a lot too. It's when I lay on my side I can hear my heart pounding in my ears. It goes away or I drift off to sleep with the rythm of my heartbeat. Soothing actually

Happens to me with allergies. Decongestants usually help.

Are you congested? If your ears are stuffed up, this happens to me.

I've had this for as long as I can remember. I can't make it happen, but I think it's a particular position. Anyway, I asked a cardiologist kind of randomly (I have MVP) and he said it has something to do with anatomy. I can't remember exactly, but it had to so with arteries/veins near your eardrum, if I'm remembering correctly.

21:30 here. Yes I have it more often than not though a course of prednisone helped a lot.

Happens to me a few times a year, but mostly associated with seasonal allergies and inner ear pressure.

I do the valsalva maneuver, chew gum, sometimes lie down or sleep with a heating pad. Usually goes away on its own and is helped by antihistamines.

Do you get it often, PP?

Oh no! Didn't want to inspire another person to seek doctor google!
Sorry about that. I never thought anything of it either and randomly looked it up tonight.
I did just get over a bad cold, maybe it's related.
Apparently that's the most common cause.

Me too. It goes away on its own so I've never worried about it.

...at night when I'm in certain positions.
It usually stops when I change positions, so I only experience it for a few moments at a time.
It doesn't disrupt my sleep or anything like that, I barely notice it so I'm not exactly sure how long it's been going on.
I just happened to google it and freaked out because it seems to be associated with all kinds of serious health issues.
I don't get ringing in my ear, just the sound if my pulse in a "whooshing" way.
Anyone else?
