Yuzu in Bethesda. The restaurant is pretty new, but the chef is very experienced and knows how to make real sushi.

Zento in Old Town (near the Trader Joe's) recently opened, and my experiences there have all been good.

Used to go to Maki Maki, and it was fine nothing special, but then saw that it had been closed for some health violation. Closed only for a short time but for a sushi restaurant that is pretty hazardous and it never seemed all that good to me so had sought out alternatives.

Sushi Taro for sushi. Lunch deals are great, as are happy hours if you can get a table.
Makoto for omakase/kaiseki.
