With #1 I thought I should be cleaning toys but wasn't. With #2 I thought that I would really like more sleep. Both kids are very healthy..

Dishwasher, washing machine, or throw away if cant be washed in either of the two.

Only when they get visibly dirty. If ds wets the bed, wet stuffed animals go in the washing machine. If the baby spits up on her toys they get rinsed or wiped off. If bigger toys look dusty, I'll dust them - maybe.

I don't do much, but my son puked in his bed tonight, so we're throwing a lot of his plush toys he sleeps with in the washer. Trying to spot clean and Simple Green some of the ones with batteries. If it doesn't work well, I'll toss them.

Softie goes in our dishwasher at night,
Other big toys, once a year outside with a hose.

we wipe hard toys and indestructibles down with a wet cloth or in the sink if they get dirty. Stuffed animals get spot cleaned if necessary.

If we're out, then I also use pacifier wipes or a wet napkin.

If you have a hot glue gun, put a little bit of glue over the hole on the bottom when you buy them. It keeps water/ mold from getting inside so you dont have to toss them as often. ( I learned this after throwing out about 3 sets). they dont squirt anymore, but my kids never use them as squirters anyway so this works for us.
