I remember reading somewhere that Adderall is sometimes prescribed for anxiety related to PTSD. I forget the term, but it is kind of like how some doctors prescribe Wellbutrin to help people quit smoking.

Well you also said he has ADHD. So it is more likely that he is taking it for his ADHD. Sounds like both of you need to learn more about the medication and dosage. He is taking it incorrectly and in order to help him, you need to know what he is taking for what and when he should be taking it.
