No, but if the speech delay goes along with low tone, hand-writing might be an issue later. Kids with speech delays are more at risk for language-based LDs, but only time will tell.

No, mine was reading early at 3.5. Just decided to read one day and did it. Writing is a struggle but he's 4 so I am not concerned. When he's ready he will do it. I find the kids compensate in other ways. Reading is a strength.
