I swap pumpkin for sweet potatoes and vice versa all the time. Everything always turns out fine. I'd say go for it... and report back to us!

I think it is just too different of a texture if the original recipe calls for fresh, not canned.

So the recipe is a sweet potato casserole; it contains lemon and orange zest, orange juice, brown sugar, and butter, with a pecan & brown sugar topping. Do you think I can swap out the sweet potatoes and use canned pumpkin instead?
