Subject: Car Pools in Preschool?
It has been rare in our experience. Between different regular dr. Appointments and being sick at different times there tends not to be much consistency of schedule. The..kids...get...sick when they are first pooled together.

OP here, I imagined the car seat situation is a hassle. That's probably why most people don't do it at this age. But its reassuring to hear that some schools do it!
Post @ 18:03 its about a mile and a half through a somewhat hilly neighborhood so walking the whole way might be too much.

It's not unusual to find carpools at our half-day preschool, but only in cases where the parents and kids knew each other prior to enrolling at the school, or if the kids have become friends in class during the prior year and the parents have gotten to know one another. We just take the booster seat and give it to the pickup parent at the door.

When the school directory comes out, check for zip codes and addresses near you and just ask. I bet you find some looking for the opportunity to share the drive.

Does the school offer a lunch bunch option? Some schools with extended care beyond the preschool morning have a program where the kids stay for lunch and then go home right afterward.

My son is going to start school this upcoming fall for half days. His nanny can pick him up but it would be a somewhat complicated but not far metro bus ride and walk, and since he won't have lunch before leaving school I'm worried he'll be hungry (and not happy) by the time he gets home.
