After seven years of marriage, I just recently had this problem too. We'll eventually get another ring but its not a priority for me right now to spend more $$$.

White gold and any other colored gold is an alloy. For example, white gold is usually gold plus nickel or palladium or manganese and then plated in rhodium. Rose gold has copper, etc.

Most people's reaction is to the nickel once the rhodium wears away. Take it to a jeweler and they can help.

I have a right hand ring that is white gold. The same thing happened to me. I took it back to Washington Diamond and the rhodium ( I think that's what it's called) had worm off. They fixed it at no charge and I've had no rash or itching since.

Op again--I have the mirena, so can't be a paraguard allergy.

Maybe your rings are fake, and you wore down the outside layer and exposed the nickel.

My rings are gold because I'm allergic to all other metals.

I had the same problem. I had my rings plated with rhodium and it solved it completely.

Yes, i had that problem for 4 years or so and then, it cleared itself without me doing anything differently. So weird.

Paraguard allergy again - here's the link. It's nickel that's the problem in both,

OP, I'm having this same problem. It started last summer and my dermatologist prescribed a steroid cream for it. It helps but I can't wear my rings every day and definitely not overnight like I used to. My rings are platinum, so I'm wondering if switching to a different metal would help?

I had a reaction to the copper IUD (paraguard). Supposedly it's related to your type of allergy, In my case, I just had it removed. You might be able to find a different metal. You need to find a doctor who can diagnose contact allergies to help you figure out which metal you can tolerate.

This is a new problem.--It only started after I gave birth last year. Whenever I wear my rings, my finger breaks out into a rash. It takes weeks/months to clear up. Has anyone else experienced this? What did you do?
