I think the w-2 reflects total premiums, including what the feds paid for you plus your contribution. Check you last paystub for what you paid.

My husband is a fed and we've always insured the family through my job because the two private companies I've worked for since he's been a fed offer better options for far cheaper.
My current company is saving us about $2k/year over what we would pay through the federal government.

Switched from GEHA to BC a few years back b/c BC network was much better. Maybe not so now?

Our BC/BS last year was roughly $5200, it's a family plan, doesn't matter if you have 1 or 10 children.

We just switched to GEHA basic and it's going to be just over half that for the year.

Oops-forgot to say that was for BCBS standard option.

Our plan was about $200 every two weeks (family). So $5200 for the year.

I'd appreciate knowing what plan you were on for 2013. I'm new to the fed govt and got my W2. It seems i'm paying an exorbitant amount of money for health insurance.
