Just don't bring pasta salad. TOTALLY vulgar.

But seriously, what about a coucous or rice salad? or the dreaded pasta salad? or just a really great salad? potato salad?

This isn't too pricey but it takes a little work. The trick is going to a Hispanic market to buy the jalapeƱos--they usually have the smaller ones and better prices..

stuffed mushrooms - simple whole mushrooms, break out the stem, cook in the oven (face up) for 10 minutes or so, fill with little cubes of cheese, and cook for another 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. These are very popular and go fast.

Some kind of cheddar/bacon/bread bites. Toast bread, spread mayonnaise on toast, sprinkle with bacon bits and top with shredded cheddar or gruyere cheese. Broil till melted and brown. Cut into square inch pieces.
