Cut off score is not determined until next year after FxAT results are in, but usually around 132. If your DC does well on the FxAT and gets a good GBRS, a 118 on the NNAT doesn't eliminate him/her.

OP here. Not sure how mentioning the immersion program is a humble brag. It is part of the FCPS immersion program - we got in through a lottery. Doesn't make my kid a genius.

A 132 should get you in the pool based on the past few years experience. However, most think the CoGAT/FxAT score carries more weight (taken in second grade). A good teacher recommendation is also essential for admittance to AAP.

The pool is determined in second grade after they take the FXAT. In the past, a 132 on the NNAT or any section of the FXAT has been the cutoff score for in pool. If your DC is in pool that doesn't automatically mean he will be found eligible. If found eligible your DC can start AAP at any year up thru 8th grade. There is no AAP in high school. If in pool and not found eligible, you can appeal. If not in pool, you can parent refer. Parent referrals are considered at the same time as in pool. Those found eligible, whether parent referred or in pool, are treated the same.
